The planned European megamerger that would create the world’s largest aerospace and defense company by revenue could trigger the biggest shake-up among U.S. rivals in almost two decades. . . . For BAE, a merger could mean tighter U.S. scrutiny. “The deal will probably require a more restrictive security regime over some BAE assets than BAE now faces” in the U.S., said Steven Grundman, Lund Fellow for Emerging Defense Challenges at the Atlantic Council in Washington, D.C.
